Before leaving Laguna on Thursday, I remembered a park that I had accidentally found back in December and excitedly told Chelsea we should try to go and find it again. (I found this park after making a wrong turn while looking for the meeting point for our photoshoot with Samantha Polanco and regretted that we were already running late and could not get out to explore.) We hopped in the car and headed north just about a mile past Laguna Canyon Road in search of it.
Crescent Bay Point Park is hidden back in a residential neighborhood that overlooks the ocean and Crescent Bay Beach. We found the turn onto Crescent Bay Drive easily and found a space to park beside a median in the cul-de-sac. There were an abundant variety of flowers in bloom all along the edges of this well-kept park, which just added to the beauty of this overlook. There were very few people in the park itself, maybe five others, but there were a lot of people down below on the beach, exploring the tidepools in the rocks, and snorkeling or paddleboarding. It was a wonderful day weather-wise and I wished I’d taken a swimsuit, because I suddenly wanted to join everyone below us. If you look closely in some of the photos below you can see a few of these explorers; seeing how tiny they show in the photos really brings the height of the cliffs and this park into perspective!
